What is D5 Render
D5 Render is a real-time ray tracing renderer for architects, landscape, interior designers, engineers and other 3D professionals. It is fully compatible with SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, Archicad, Rhino, C4D and Blender with live-sync support.
The proprietary Global Illumination technology, D5 GI, sets D5 Render apart by delivering the highest quality lighting and shading effects without sacrificing workflow efficiency. As an industry-leading real-time rendering solution, D5 allows you to see every modification to your scene in real time with trustworthy preview and higher FPS. It renders images, videos and panoramas fast enough to leave time for fine-tuning or further edits.
D5 and DLSS 3
D5 Render now fully supports NVIDIA DLSS 3, bringing a new real-time experience to architects, designers and 3D artists, improving the efficiency and overall experience of the creative process.
Prior to this integration, D5 had already integrated DLSS 2, which leverages Super Resolution Sampling to enhance real-time image clarity and rendering speed. DLSS 3 is a significant upgrade to DLSS 2, with improvements in real-time smoothness. This process greatly improves the real-time performance of D5, allowing designers to work with larger scenes, higher-quality models and textures without sacrificing speed or interactivity. By combining DLSS FG and RS technologies, D5 is set to deliver an unprecedented creative experience for architects, designers, and 3D artists.
Let's take a look at the data comparison.
*At 3840 x 2160 resolution on GeForce RTX 4090
Scene
Frame rate
*DLSS3 OFF: Around 31-38 fps
*DLSS3 ON: Around 59-61 fps
Frame rate during operation
Switch Scenes
*DLSS3 OFF: Around 36-38fps
*DLSS3 ON: Around 59-67fps
Video Preview
*DLSS3 OFF: Around 31-36fps
*DLSS3 ON: Around 68-70fps
We can see that the smoothness of operation is exponentially increased.
The integration of DLSS 3 with D5 marks a milestone in the real-time rendering industry. With advanced rendering capabilities and real-time performance, D5 is poised to revolutionize the way architects, designers and 3D artists work, opening up new possibilities for creativity and innovation.
*DLSS Frame Generation requires GeForce RTX 40 series graphics card, and when you open D5, it will be turned on by default. You can turn it off manually if you need to. Also, you need to enable “Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling".
